Gretchen Hummel is the award-winning author of the speculative fiction trilogy, Black Dreams. The first book in the series, Black Dreams, Silver Linings  (link) was previously published in 2011 under the title Dreamer’s Island.  It  won three awards–one Writer’s Digest award and two USA Best Book Awards.

Gretchen has published short stories in the literary journals, Potomac Review, Confrontation, and Shades. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Utah and a MS degree in Psychiatric Nursing. She lives in Utah.
